The annual Leonids meteor shower is due to peak next week, hopefully giving stargazers a treat to brighten up the dark winter evenings. The Leonids are due to show between November 3 and December 2 this year, and predicted to peak on the night of November 16, according to the American Meteor Society.

Space.com stated on its website that the best way to see the Leonid meteor shower is to go to the "darkest possible location, and wait about 30 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dark." The website noted that you don't need a telescope or a pair of binoculars to see the meteors.
