A goods train derailed in Peddapalli district, Telangana, causing the cancellation of 20 passenger trains and affecting over 10 others, according to South Central Railway officials. Restoration work is ongoing following the incident late Tuesday night.

A goods train carrying steel coils and iron rods derailed in Telangana’s Peddapalli district, blocking three tracks and causing disruptions across South Central Railway.

Eleven wagons of the goods train carrying iron ore derailed between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam on Tuesday late night, they said. Due to derailment of the goods train, as many as 20 passenger trains were cancelled, four were partially cancelled and 10 were diverted, a release from the SCR zone said.
