HENDERSON, N.C. (WNCN) — New information and a detailed timeline have been released in the Vance County death of Javion Magee. The Vance County Sheriff’s Office put out the information shortly after meeting with Javion Magee’s family members and their attorneys on Wednesday, around the same time the family attended a press conference.
‘Grossly premature’ to call Javion Magee’s death a suicide, civil rights attorneys say
”For any suggestion that it was suicide, anybody saying it was a suicide, would be grossly premature,” said Harry Daniels, national civil rights attorney. “We do know a young, Black man was hanging from a tree in North Carolina.”
